For Ashton, agriculture and education, health, and social services were the two top sectors. Tourism ranks rst in the Island Park area, with construction and retail trade tied for second place. Throughout the county, the Services sector is the fastest growing industry: of the 1,096 jobs created from 1970-2000, 66% were in services. Agriculture is a stable and important aspect of Fremonts economy. The major agricultural players are potatoes, barley, wheat, hay, and cattle.
