b'T R A N S P O R T A T I O NRailroadsThe mainline of the Union Pacic railroad crosses a small section of the southern portion of the county, north of Lake Walcott.Major Interstates/Highways US 20/26 runs east-west through the center of the county, passing south of Bellevue, through Carey, and north of the Craters of the Moon. SH-75 (Sawtooth Scenic Byway) is the primary north-south road in the county and runs through the cities of Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley.Road and Bridge SystemThe Road and Bridge Department maintains roads, bridges, and rights-of-way to provide a safe and cost-ecient road system. Blaine County maintains 449 miles of roadway, of which 130 miles are paved, 280 are gravel and 39 are other surfaces. Department tasks include snowplowing 293 miles of roadway, seasonal avalanche and mudslide removal, grading, road repair, dust guarding, crack sealing, pothole repair, chip sealing, installing culverts and drainage systems, sign posting, tree cutting, and conducting road assessments.
