A corridor management plan has recently been prepared for this highway by the Idaho Transportation Department. Approximately 29% of the trac is semi-truck. US 89 passes from the Utah state line at Bear Lake to Paris through Montpelier and exiting the county at Geneva near the Wyoming border. This route carries trac associated with recreation travel of Bear Lake and the National Parks of Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It also connects the communities of Fish Haven, St. Charles, Bloomington, Paris, Ovid, Montpelier, and Geneva.
