Potatoes, sugar beets, beans, grain, fertilizer, phosphate and forest products are all moved by Union Pacic.The Boise Valley Railroad (BVRR) began operations in November 2009. The BVRR consists of 68 miles of track on two separate branches, the Wilder Branch and the Boise Cut-o. The Wilder Branch runs from Wilder, Idaho, to Caldwell, Idaho. The Boise Cut-o runs from Nampa to southeast of Boise. The BVRR also includes trackage rights from Nampa to Caldwell on the Union Pacic Railroad line. The major commodities of the Boise Valley Railroad include potatoes, lumber, fertilizer, and fuels. 5Major Interstates/Highways I-84 is a major shipping route between Salt Lake City, UT and Boise, and from Boise to Portland, OR. The freeway runs northwest through the county from the eastern border to the western border. I-184 is a short Auxiliary Interstate Highway in Boise, Idaho. It is a spur route of I-84 that connects the freeway to Downtown Boise, terminating at U.S. Route 20 (US 20) and U.S. Route 26 (US 26). Eighteen routes operate in Ada County with seven of these providing six-day-per-week service in Boise. ACCESS is a transportation service operated by Valley Regional Transit through the tax support of local municipalities. The service is available to people who are unable to utilize the bus system because of a disability.
