The Interstate provides the main route for truck transportation to the eastern and northwestern parts of the U.S., with connections to Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, and points beyond. SH-20 leaves I-84 in Mountain Home and runs northeast to the eastern county border; the highway serves as a secondary route between Idaho Falls and Boise. SH-51 starts at the southeastern edge of Mountain Home on Highway 67 and traverses the County south to the Snake River, to Bruneau in Owyhee County and on to Elko, Nevada.
