The lab’s education programs support K-12 students and teachers, college undergraduate interns, graduate students and university research efforts. Academic institutions and researches across the nation benefit from access to INL resources, capabilities and expertise. INL engaged 700 educators from over 90 percent of the school districts in Idaho in i-STEM professional development, directly benefiting 30,000 students. The U.S. Department of Education recognized i-STEM as an outstanding professional development model. INL awarded grants to programs promoting talent pipeline development in Idaho, including theYour Future inTechnology, orYourFIT program. YourFIT reached rural high school students and showcased high-wage, high-demand technology careers that only require a two-year degree or certification.
